because i dont want to blog about life

I dont want to blog about life. I like to keep a mixture of seriousness and light heartedness on my blog. I have had too much seriousness lately.

So I am going to do something that makes me feel better. Make fun of christians.

As someone who has read all the harry potter books, and I did NOT try to turn a stick into a flashlight by saying "lumos," and I am still a Christian. I can say I found that image hilarious.

explicit

I have made intentionally vague and guarded references to this subject.

I am not going to seminary this fall. (obvious right? because classes started 3 weeks ago).

I may never go. I am ok with that. There are more important things than vocational success.

I feel it is much more important and pertinent to live up to certain ideals in my life.

You may ask "much more important than the ideal of proclaming the gospel through ministry?"

Ministry isn't a goal, its a life style. My qualifications for changing the world don't hinge on me having a seminary education.

My qualifications are based upon the truth affecting my soul, and the outpouring of that change to my family, friends, and those I come into contact with.

obedience

One of my favorite bible stories is that of Abraham and Isaac.

I desire such obedience.

To follow my God with such devotion and submission that I am willing to sacrifice the one thing(s) that I love oh so dearly.

God is love. But love sometimes is sanctification through submission. And sanctification often does not feel anything like love.

Christianity is submission.
